Vintage Market Days

Hi, it’s Bonnie,

Vintage Market Days

We were lucky enough to be given tickets for Vintage Market Days in Summerlin Nv. and we had two extra to giveaway. We ( my friend Barbie and I, Amy had to work) went up Thursday. The venue was at a outdoor mall across from the Red Rock Casino, it’s a lovely area. Summerlin has lots of trees and greenery, directly below the mountain ranges, it stands out like a work of art. The area is called The Lawn at Summerlin. Every store you can imagine is right there.

The market went Fri-Sunday so it just ended yesterday afternoon. We went Friday morning

about an hour after it started. The traffic inside was great. We knew some of the vendors so that made it fun, as always, to check how they were doing. Not too shabby_by_sabby, Sabrina, was soooo busy. She sold quite a few things before we even got there. Luckily they had a trailer full still. She was a hit.  It’s funny that Vegas does not have many vintage stores. We looked!!! They are starting to get some, and we heard that Boulder City has a lot. Next trip!!! Las Vegas has some vintage clothing stores and some antique stores. We went to two, Charleston Antique Mall and Laura’s Treasures., that we liked. With that in mind, vintage was a big draw at the market. There were about 60 vendors so there is clearly a market for old, repurposed, repainted, reused, shabby, distressed. We were so happy to run into Country_Skye who lives nearby,  we had met a few years ago down at Behind the Picket Fence. Got some cool silver salt and peppers shakers from her.

1 Vet Designs

Also there, 1vetdesigns, who make really cool edison lamps with pipe sections and fittings. We met them at the Vintage Marketplace back when it was at Galway Downs so it was great to see them. So creative and different than any other lights. We walked around and introduced ourselves to some of the vendors we didn’t know. It was windy so that made it a little more challenging for pop-ups!! Always something extra to add to all the work these guys do. Check out the pictures and then go to their instagram and facebook posts to learn more about the show and the dealers.

The setting was great, the music was fantastic, the food trucks, several, were very very good. The vendors were happy and so were we. Thank you to Brandi and Erica for inviting us. We loved the way you set this up, clearly you are experts!!! The backdrops alone show how talented you are. This market travels to many states but lucky us, it will return Oct 26-8. We’ll be there, are you making your plans yet? Dealers from So Calif. should  absolutely look into it. We would have loved to go every day but we had to get home for the Red Rooster Vintage Market on Saturday. No rest for the weary-except we never get weary of hunting vintage!!!

Lotus Moon Market

Hi everyone,

Lotus Moon Market

One of our greatest pleasures is seeing new businesses open up and to be able to tell you about them. One is Lotus Moon Market at 264 Vista Village Dr Suite A, Vista. They are open now but will be having a grand opening soon too. You will also be able to see the owner, Sup Goods, at the Vista Vintage and Makers Market on April 22 downtown. We love that market and will be attending.

Lotus Moon Market

Here are a few words the owner Sophia wrote about her new venture:

“Lotus Moon Market is a curated handmade market featuring artisans locally and globally.

The Lotus symbolizes rebirth and patience; while the Moon symbolizes enlightenment, and is the light through the darkness.

Lotus Moon Market

The goal for Lotus Moon Market is to help people around the world. We want to shine the light on artisans who bust their butts off to feed their families, villages and communities. We practice fair trade, anti sweat shop, and anti slavery.

Lotus Moon Market

We want to share with the world what beautiful creations these

artisans make from around the globe.”

This is the first brick and mortar store for her and we all know how hard that is, so let’s try to support her, go over if you are nearby, watch for a website soon, and follow on Instagram now where she has some gorgeous items posted from other countries. We are so blessed here, it’s great to have a chance to support these hard workers. We will be posting more pics also so keep an eye out.

Our Vintage Emporia

Hi everyone,

For some time we have been asking business owners and vendors to write their stories for us. (Still waiting for some of you!) Today we have one for you. Our Vintage Emporia 719 E Route 66 Glendora Ca., is one of the stores we regularly visit. Watching it evolve has been a fun experience, just as many of the places we go.

In their words:

Vintage Emporia

The Evolution

“What once began as a hobby, has transformed into so much more that we could have imagined. We are amazed and humbled every time a customer walks in.

It began with two companies who started out in warehouses, selling goods every other weekend. We joined forces and opened an actual storefront. Before long, customers became artists and vendors selling their creations and found objects. Each with their own story to tell.

Every inch of the shop is filled with interesting objects-handmade, new and found. Over 20 small businesses sell goods with us, in addition to our own creations. It’s a place of wonder and amazement. You can find everything from handmade reclaimed wood furniture to beautiful vintage pieces to decorate your home. We have unique home decor, handmade gifts, and beautifully curated vintage items. It truly has become a wonderland for the Home.”

Vintage Emporia

This area-Glendora, Covina, Monrovia and surrounding cities- is becoming a mecca for the vintage, antique, reuse, re purpose type of business. We love all these stores and promote them on our Instagram often. So scroll through it, make a plan, and get out and visit them all. Be sure and tell them We’re Mad About sent you!!!

Junk in the Trunk-Pomona Fairplex

Hi, it’s Bonnie and Amy,

The Vintage Blvd

Woohoo!!! The big shows are back!! Starting with Junk in the Trunk at the Pomona Fairplex Feb 24-25. We’ll be there on Sat. We love seeing the vendors and the crowds at these events. Everyone brings their best stuff and the booths are just beautifully arranged.

Last year we went and saw so many vendors we knew. Attached are a few pictures. It is great to talk to them and see what they have picked, painted, produced and come up with each time. The Fairplex has a nice atmosphere with music and food vendors. For some of these vendors, this is the only show they are doing so it’s nice to catch up. Among our favorites on the list this time are Miller Rustic Design, Seahouse Design, the Junk Diva, Lilwoods Vintage, Ripe Design, Anything Rustic-really they are all our favorites. It’s $8.00 a day, early bird $20 if you buy before 2/19/18. Parking is unfortunately $12, but that goes to the venue, not the show. It’s worth it to see all the vendors together, imagine how many stores and pop-ups you would have to drive to, to see this many and they are the best of the best!! Check out all this years vendors on their website,

Paper Jar

So get out your calendars, get your lists ready, and get over there. We’re wearing our comfortable shoes , and bringing our smiles. We’re so happy about this show!!!

February Calendar of Events

Hi, it’s Bonnie,

One of the things we love best about doing our Instagram and blog is that we not only get to meet the owners or vendors but also hear their stories. One of those is Sundappled at 216 W. Foothill Blvd in Claremont. We discovered and posted this store a few months ago and wanted to give a little more info about them. Run by two sisters who are strong, motivated and want to share with their community, it’s a fun place to go with events happening all the time. Here’s how they describe themselves:

We are Women, We are Mothers, We are Wives. We are the “Ladies of the Foothills” and owners of Sundappled Boutique. We are nestled in the beautiful community of Claremont and inviting you to share in the journey of “Women Serving Women”. We are a boutique space filled with handcrafted items, created by local artists, and there is a movement taking place in our whimsical and creative boutique. We are a retail space with a community vibe!!!
Follow us at:

So drop by and visit them. It’s by all the  colleges and close to downtown Claremont, where there are many more restaurants and places to visit. There’s an event happening there Feb 24th. ” The big secret your shopping habits reveal about you,” is the name, pre registration required. Only one of the many events they do.
