Top 5 items to sell!!!!!!

Good evening from Amy and Bonnie,

As you know if you follow us, we go to a lot of flea markets, stores, parking lot sales and events. In doing so we see what vendors are currently selling and what is still sitting there after a few events. So…we decided to take a look at what is moving and give you a list of our findings. Of course we are open to other opinions, just use the comment section on our blog here, we would love to hear them.

Number one top seller: Frames!! You would think we all have enough but they are probably the item we see most.  If a vendor has display pieces using it a different way it sells even better. Magnet boards, bulletin boards, chalkpaint boards, boards with clips and string, all of these can probably be found at any booth. How many varied ways are there to use a frame? Let us know if you have ideas.

Number two: Wine barrel strap metal hearts. Hey, we each bought one. Everyone we know bought one. We both used to live in wine country, Napa, so they are dear to our hearts and memories. ( If we had only know how wine stuff would take off we would have collected it when we lived there for free from our friends who worked at wineries!!!)  Almost anything wine related sells, wine boxes, wine barrels, wine labels, wine corks, right?  So many crafts to do with all that stuff.

Number three: small tables-like coffee tables, side tables, bedside tables, patio accent tables, plant stands. These can be found anywhere and usually pretty inexpensive. The price goes up if the vendor has custom painted it like @Atomic Loft at @needfulthingsaddiction in Lake Elsinore. They are usually the most sought after item for vendors to turn over quickly.  Easy to carry if you buy one and easy to decorate with.  For vendors selling other products like @sweetpeascharm they are the perfect setting for showing her plaster paint colors.  Easy to use to set up smaller displays for a vendor too. Most versatile piece out there.

Number four: Anything galvanized or rusted. At @threespeckledhens, a market we love and will be attending again Sept 30th and Oct 1st in Paso Robles, we saw so many dealers selling rusted farm pieces, and it seems to vary in variety from area to area. There is more farm land up there in Northern Calif.  and so you see more rust than you knew existed.  Down here in So. Calif. it’s hard for dealers to find so they have to go picking up north or Arizona or Texas or the mid states.  Galvanized or rust adds such a difference when you use it in your decor. It’s that added touch. So baskets, gears, feeders, planters,  are big attention- getters,  and sell quickly.

Number five: Signs, signs, signs.  Signs are still going strong. There are so many different ways to make them that we think they will be a best seller forever. At @farawayhood they made us a sign with @sweetpeacharm (another blog coming about that) and we noticed they are continually changing their rusted numbers, letters and symbols to make as many different signs as possible. At @newagain_furnishings in Glendora the window and old cabinet door signs are made using quotes and sweet sayings.  At @needfulthingsaddiction in Lake Elsinore you can find @picklenbean with yet another different style, filling the whole hallway there with beautifully framed signs,  some of her pieces are at @vintiquealley in Riverside too. And more at Needful Things Addiction, Lake Elsinore, @thebannergirls have yet a different style.  At @shabbyology in Covina look for classes on making signs with Iron Orchid Designs.  Most of these vendors make professional custom signs, so if you like their style pm them on Instagram. There is no end to what you can put on a sign, it personalizes your home, and is a clue to your decorating style. Great for gifts too.

More on our sightings  and observations in future blogs, be sure and follow us along.

Thanks for reading…Bonnie and Amy
